The ELITE Sprinter Framework

Throughout your time at Speed Masters Academy, we’ll be diving deep into The ELITE Sprinter Framework, which is the Speed Masters system for how to become a master sprinter.

  • If you want to be a master sprinter, you need to be technically efficient. This is your starting point. Your technique will either help or hinder your speed. It can also cause or prevent injury, so refining your running technique is your first priority.

  • The next component is “looseness”. This refers to your freedom to flow. Sprinting is an art… your body is your machine… if you want it to work for you, you have to manage it well!

  • If you want to go the distance, you’ve got to move with purpose. The ABCs of intentionality are:

    • ATTITUDE (towards training)

    • BOLDNESS (towards your goals)

    • CHOICES (outside of training)

  • Sprinting requires extreme fitness, but it is also a skill. As with any fitness journey and with any skill you seek to acquire, training over time is required. Some people develop skills quicker than others, but the good thing is, a skill can be learned, and fitness can be attained. All you need are particulars, periodisation, progression, and perseverance.

  • You’ll know you’re a master sprinter when you’re unconsciously competent. Your practice (in training), your performance (in competition), and your profession (career choice) all benefit from the mastery of your skill.
